Hi. I’m Vinny Lingo. I’m no guru. I’m not even close to being able to consider myself an expert. But I noticed that while there were a lot of people talking about most other aspects of blogging, no one was discussing local niche blogging. I am a big fan of local business. I believe in supporting the local economy. And I think it’s just plain fun to be involved in my local community. I firmly believe the best way to start being involved in the local community, if you’re not already, is by starting a local niche blog. And if you are already involved, what a great platform for providing a consistent, visible voice. Let’s go over what I’ll be covering here.
Learn Local Niche Blogging
There are plenty of excellent resources on blogging for beginners. Instead of rehashing anything covered elsewhere, I’ll point out those resources. I want to focus on how to blog about your local niche. What sorts of topics to cover. How to avoid being a rehash of the local paper. How to be relevant to your local community. Developing a network of people who feed you leads on local stories. I’ll try my best to cover anything and everything about how to actually run the blog. And yes, I’ll cover reader questions, so please comment with any questions you have.
Learn Local Niche Blog Monetization
Let’s be honest. You’re not running a charity here. Well, maybe you are. But wouldn’t it be nice to see some money come in as a result of running your local niche blog? I’ll be covering how to how to approach local business owners about advertising with you. You will also need to know how to present the advertisements on your blog. I’ll point out good technical resources, and talk about presentation. Should you do paid reviews of local businesses? Should you plaster advertisements all over your blog? Or should you be more conservative? Stick around and see.
Learn How To Build A Local Niche Blog Readership
Now that you’ve got yourself into local niche blogging, you probably want to write for more than yourself. Building a readership is by far the most important ingredient in a successful local niche blog. I’ll show you how to market your blog both online and offline. The best part about having one of these is building a devoted fan base. Through a combination of traditional advertising, social media marketing, search engine optimization, and good old word of mouth, you will see your readership grow with you as you build your local niche blog into the place to read about where you live.
